(Photo by Duncan Wolfe) One of Saugatuck’s premier attractions is the Saugatuck Dunes State Park, a day-use public park encompassing two-and-a-half miles of secluded Lake Michigan shoreline and 1,000 acres of steep slopes, rolling hills and fresh water coastal dunes more than 200 feet tall. A long sandy beach and 300-acre natural area attract enthusiasts, birdwatchers and hikers year-round.

Available varieties for picking vary throughout the season and currently visitors to the Orchard can pick Ida Reds, Jonathan, Empire and Jonagold. Gala and Honey Crisp have been pre-picked and are available for purchase.
