The first Saturday of August is approaching and that means Holland is holding its Art in the Park event. Up to 300 artists and artisans from eight different states will be displaying and selling their work. The art show brings the most visitors to Holland, second only to Tulip Time. Support local and regional creative talents in the Holland and Saugatuck areas and find a unique piece to bring home with you at the same time! This event guarantees you’ll find something you like from Michigan’s Art Coast like an artisan basket or handmade jewelry. If you don’t, the creative posters that are autographed by artists always make a great memento that is both creative and original while also keeping that personal sentiment you want.
Besides the exciting event held in Centennial Park, Holland, it is a great town to explore. With 22 parks that total 500 acres, Holland is well-known for its green spaces. Visit some of the town’s best attractions and landmarks like the monument to the 19th-century Dutch settlers that founded Holland, the fields at the Veldheer Tulip Gardens, the authentic Dutch windmill at Windmill Island Gardens, the Holland State Park, and the Holland Museum. Holland has a huge list of fun things to do, so even if the Art in the Park arts and crafts fair isn’t quite your thing, we know you’ll be able to pick something out. You can attend one of the exciting Sidewalk Sales, head to the Holland Farmer’s Market, or just admire the charming architecture of one of “America’s Prettiest Towns”. Visit the Holland Website to discover Saugatuck’s northern neighbor and plan your trip today!
The 48th Annual Art in the Park will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 from 9 AM-4 PM in Holland’s Centennial Park. The event is sponsored by the Holland Friends of Art, a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to directly supporting artists, free community programs, and scholarships for art students.
