It's Tulip Time in Saugatuck, MI
April showers bring May flowers and the month of May in the Saugatuck area gets a few extra petals. The famous Tulip Time Festival, an annual event that celebrates the Dutch heritage of the town of Holland, Michigan, features millions of colorful tulips. While other areas of the United States have similar tulip festivals, Holland’s is the largest one you’ll find in all 50 states! Tulip Time will also feature fireworks, a carnival, arts and crafts fair, parade, and more!
From Saturday, May 4th to Sunday, May 12th, admire the rows upon rows of vibrant tulips all around and along the streets surrounding Holland. To make sure you get to see the best spots, reserve your spots on a guided Tulip City Tour. A friendly Dutch-costumed guide will narrate your hour-long trolley tour through Holland’s Historic District, city parks, and award-winning downtown. You can also browse the handmade, original works of more than 250 juried artisans at the Artisan Market in Centennial Park among beautiful tulip beds. There is also live music performances and concerts to enjoy like Hotel California, the original Eagles Tribute Band at the Civic Center. If you’re more interested in some peace and quiet, attend a 60-minute Yoga in the Tulips session led by Jessica Bradley of Happy Soul Yoga.
There are so many things to do during the Tulip Time Festival, it’s hard to only pick a few. Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to make it to a few favorites during the weeklong celebration.
