Skiing at Saugatuck

In March, it’s not too late to venture into our winter wonderland to satisfy your passion for outdoor adventure. Explore the tranquil woods and snow-covered dunes surrounding The Hotel Saugatuck on cross-country skis or snowshoes, sled at Schultz Park or ice skate in South Haven.
There are several ski and snowboard resorts in our area with the closest located in Otsego to the southeast: Bittersweet Ski Resort. Within a 45-minute drive of The Hotel Saugatuck, Bittersweet offers 20 runs of varying grades and a snowboarding terrain park. The resort has an on-site ski shop for rentals and offers group and private lessons from knowledgeable instructors. Beginners should stick to runs like Sassafras, Sweet Pea and Birch, and the easy-to-use Wondercarpet lift will take you to the top of the beginner hill no matter your skill level. Intermediate skiers and snowboarders can tackle Juniper, Snowberry and Sumac while advanced athletes can test their skills on Hawthorne, Choke Cherry and Wild Rose. Terrain parks include battleship, elbow and shotgun rails.
When you return, a warm drink, fireplace and hydrotherapy tub are ready to relax and soothe you in your home-away-from-home at The Hotel Saugatuck.
