Cruise Down the Kalamazoo
Experience Saugatuck and Douglas from the waters of the Kalamazoo River on the downriver hydrobiking adventure. The two-three hour “bike” rides by Saugatuck HydroBikes on the Kalamazoo River are just $25 per person and I’ve got a feeling you’ve never done this before, so try something new and make another memory while you’re here in Saugatuck.
With the Saugatuck HydroBikes downriver route, you’ll float under our old swing bridge almost 150 years old and bask in the sunlight and tranquility of the Allegan Forest before emerging at the charming Saugatuck grasslands. The hydrobike is sturdy (it won’t tip over; trust me) so it’s all up to you whether you stay dry during your trip or jump in the water a time or two. The user-friendly bike guarantees you can have a relaxing ride and small compartments ensure your phone and valuables will stay above water, not sinking to the bottom of the Kalamazoo. You also have enough storage and cupholders on your bike to pack a picnic and taking a few minutes to enjoy a light lunch amid the greenery of the forest and grass around you is a true Michigan experience. Make sure you wear sunscreen, though, since you’ll be without shade and on the water of the river for a couple of hours.
Saugatuck HydroBikes also offers free shuttle service and only accepts reservations so call today and book your daytime trip down the Kalamazoo during your stay at The Hotel Saugatuck. The launching point is at Hacklander Boat Launch, less than a 10 minute drive from our bed and breakfast.
Visit the tour company’s website for more information on the hydrobikes or to connect with them on Facebook.
